Step 1: Download Ledger Live

To begin, visit the official Ledger website at ledger.com/ledger-live and download the version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). For mobile users, Ledger Live is available on both the App Store and Google Play.

Important: Only download from the official site to avoid phishing or fake versions.

Step 2: Setting Up Your Ledger Device

If you're using Ledger for the first time, follow these setup instructions carefully:

1. Unbox your Ledger device and connect it to your computer via USB.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to initialize a new device or restore from a recovery phrase.
3. Set a strong PIN code directly on your device.
4. Write down the 24-word recovery phrase and store it offline. This is your backup.
5. Confirm your recovery phrase during the setup process.

After completing the setup, your Ledger device is ready to connect with Ledger Live.

Step 3: Install Ledger Live and Pair Your Device

Open Ledger Live and select “Get Started.” Choose your device model and follow the instructions to pair the app with your hardware wallet.

• Ledger Live will check device authenticity (genuine check)
• Once verified, you can proceed to the dashboard

Step 4: Add Crypto Accounts

Before sending or receiving cryptocurrency, you’ll need to install apps and create accounts:

1. Go to the “Manager” tab in Ledger Live

3. Once installed, navigate to “Accounts” and click “Add account”

You can now view your account, receive crypto, or send it securely.

Step 5: Receive Crypto

To receive crypto to your wallet:

• Click the “Receive” button in Ledger Live
• Select the account and verify the wallet address on your Ledger device
• Share the address or QR code with the sender
• Never accept addresses that are not confirmed on your device screen

Your assets are now safely stored with your private key protected offline.

Step 6: Send Crypto

To send crypto from your Ledger device:

1. Select “Send” from the main dashboard
2. Enter the recipient’s address and amount
3. Confirm all transaction details on your Ledger device
4. Approve the transaction physically on the device
